Since I update to version 1.0 the ram usage for bitcoin is double even triple than v 0.5.4
You guys didn’t test this version before release ?
I have the same problem with the ram. And the cpu is also permanently between 80 and 95%.
The update is not good, hopefully there will be a bug fix for it.
now Bitcoin Node 4.38 GB ram
@mayank why that much ?
I don’t think they tested this version enough. Many of us are having problems but they are working on a solution
too much ram, is crazy 3-4gb ram only for bitcoin node
When you open Bitcoin Node, click on the three dots at the top right and open the advanced settings.
Under Optimize you can check what value you have set for the cache.
I have set 1024 MB for the 5’er and 2048 MB for Mempool Size.
Ram usage 4.4 GB for Bitcoinnode, Electrs, Lightning Node, Mempool and RTL.
Bitcoin Node usage 3,05 - 3,4 GB.
It’s okay, I have 8 GB available.
is not ok, with umbrel v 0.5.4 the bitcoin node use max 1.5ggb now is 4gb
The advanced settings are:
Cache Size 450 mb
Maximum Mempool Size : 300mb
Max Orphan Transactions : 100
RPC Work Queue Size : 128
So, if I have only 4GB RAM, there’s no point to use 1.x Umbrel OS and better to stay at 0.5.4 or migrate to another OS?
Hey everyone! Apologies for the confusion. We’ve confirmed that this is a bug — the memory usage breakdown reported in the UI can be incorrect at times. The actual usage of Bitcoin Node would be way lower.
We’re currently relying on Docker’s API to fetch the memory usage, and in the next OS release we’ll switch to using our own underlying system API to correctly calculate the same.
