Question about reflashing microSD

I am working through the troubleshooting guide due to an inability to access my umbrel. It was previously working fine until a week or so ago. I’m running it on a raspberrypi. I am currently going to try reflashing the microSD with the OS

I am reading that it is not good to unplug the power on the raspberry pi. However, on the link provided in the trouble shooting guide it takes you to the initial setup when there is no power on the device.

When reflashing, do you just leave the power plugged in? do you unplug the power and then remove the microsd? I am unable to power down the device because I no longer have access to the settings on it.

sorry for such a basic question. I am new to all of this. Thanks in advance.

I just went though the process of recovering my node. My symptoms reflected yours. I unplugged the Raspberry, pulled the microSD and reflashed via my desktop/BalenaEtcher. That was the beginning to the road to recovery. I later uninstalled/reinstalled the associated apps and now have the blockchain synchronizing again. It feels good. Good Luck.

Thanks for your response. Did it take long to resync the blockchain? I would imagine no where near as long as before since you already had most of it on the external drive.

Lordy, I wish the re-sync was quicker. It appears most of the blockchain is being reconstructed. After eight hours, 11+% have been synchronized.
