New BTC & Lightning Node

Good Day Community,
This is my first post so, Hi! I am just getting into running nodes and BTC is my 1st. The UmbrelOS has made it very simple. The one question I need assistance with is, which apps are actually necessary? I followed the Umbrel instructions but, there is Lightning Node and Core Lightning. From what I have read, Core Lightning is a newer iteration of Lightning Node. So wouldn’t I want to run that instead? If I do, Thunderhub throws a fit because apparently he has a thing for the Lightning Node app.

So, to sum it up, what are the minimum apps required to run a full BTC and Lightning node on Umbrel, and still be able to send some BTC every once in a while?

Thanks for any help!

Here’s what I use for my Bitcoin and Lightning setup:
• Bitcoin Knots: To download the blockchain and efficiently manage the mempool.
• LND (Lightning Network Daemon): For operating my Lightning node.
• Electrs: As an address indexer for seamless wallet integration.
• Thunderhub: To manage and monitor my Lightning node with ease.
• Ride the Lightning: Perfect for handling swaps between my Lightning node and on-chain wallet.
• Lightning Terminal: To automate tasks like adjusting routing fees.

I also use additional tools, such as:
• Tailscale: To securely access my node from outside my home network.
• Mempool: For viewing the mempool locally.

Hey, thanks for sharing.
I have had my node for a bit, but I’m trying to set up a lightning wallet of some sort.

I had a lightning node for a while until I realized I was over my head. Anyway, point is, I am aware of these apps, but how to we link to the wallet. Where is that guide?
