Hello. I have been battling to try and get umbrel working for 2 years. No joke. Now i have bought a new ssd and when i try and run after a few hours it stops working. The light are still on but the ssd isnt getting any data in or out and the ip isnt working. Im unable to ssh and it appears to be just dead. I have tried flashing the sd many many times and i have removed the fan incase its a power issue. I have tried moving from hhd to 1tb ssd. I have tried ethernet and wifi. I have tried everything and im getting pretty mad because i havd sunk quite a bit into this project and it always manages to fail. When i unplug and reboot it comes on for a few minutes and then fails. When i look for threads here everyone seems to have had this issue years ago but im having it now. Please somebody help.
how much ram does your Pi4 have? Could it be the hardware itself? I ran UmbrelOS for years on my Pi4 8gb w/2TB SSD without problem. I stuck to the bitcoin core and lightning node with LNDg applications.
I got the 8gb version to make sure that it would run smooth. I doubt that it is the hardware but it is possible. Unfortunately i have no way to test it.
install a differing OS and see if it crashes. Why not try the basic PiOS. It’s a thought.
Im not very experienced in anything coding so ssh is perty much void. I dont have any cables to connect a monitor and ive spent more than enough to get to this point. Thanks for the offer tho i appreciate it.
Have you ruled out the power supply?.

Yes the power supply is ruled out. i used a old random brick at first so i bought a pi 4 power supply to make sure that wasn’t the issue. i also have a san disk gold 64gb so not the sd card. (I’ve tried more than one too.)
SD card. Power supply, SSD cable, ruled out.
There is a possibility you got a defective pi???
