LCD screen blank after fresh install

Hey,

My 1st Gen Bitcoin Machine was a brick so i did a fresh install.
Now the LCD screen is blank.

Is it because latest version of Umbrel OS does not support LCD display? Any fix?

Hey @remnantal

Currently, I’m not aware of any support for the LCD in umbrelOS 1.x, but you may find this community discussion useful. In particular, this post describes a workaround you can do to get at least basic functionality from the LCD.

Hopefully support is added in a future update.

At least I have confirmation it is due to 1.x not support LCD display.
The suggested workfaround intimidate me. I spent too many hours trying to make my umbrel work over the past few months.

I think Umbrel should release an update that supports the LCD screen.

I’ll be honest, I am quite disappointed by my Umbrel device. It’s quite unreliable. I don’t trust it enough to actually use it to its full potential.

I will probably sell it.
