Is it possible to install UmbrelOS on Start9 hardware?
I thought I’d give the OS a try on my Start9 hardware just to compare & see which I prefer, but booting up the Start9 with a Umbrel USB Installer connected did nothing.
Yes, the easiest way would be to install umbrel on a separate drive and just boot into that instead of the Start9 drive. Umbrel can be installed on a different nvme, ssd, or presumably even a usb. Although the usb should really only be used just to confirm that Umbrel will boot using that hardware.
press esc after power on to get the bios boot menu then you select other, and the usb drive. Make sure the umbrel OS is the AMD64_x86 version.
The iso download is not formatted correctly so if it doesn’t boot, then you need to make the img file with the linux dd command or find the .img file
