How can we get an actual relay with the Nostr Relay App. Below is what it has in the app but usually the relays start with wss:// and not ws://. Also, I can’t seem to figure out how to have it be a private relay and stay connected to us ws://umbrel:4848 as my Relay URL
Connect your Nostr client (e.g., Damus, Amethyst) to your private relay for seamless backup of all Nostr activity. In Damus, add your Relay URL via Settings > Relays.
Tip: Install Tailscale on your Umbrel and your devices for an uninterrupted connection between your clients and your relay, even when you’re away from your home network. Enable Tailscale’s MagicDNS and use ws://umbrel:4848 as your Relay URL.

Tap the globe icon on the top to back up past Nostr activity from your public relays and ensure uninterrupted future backups, even if the connection between your private relay and Nostr client is disrupted.
Also, I couldn’t get Primal to accept the ws://umbrel:4848 relay that was given in the Nostr Relay app as it uses ws:// and not wss:// and it wouldn’t turn green. It seems like the Nostr Relay app only works when I put in my npub and it backs up the information locally but as mentioned above, I want to try to create a relay in the event that every other relay went offline, I could still post on Nostr clients.
Did anyone solve the issue of connecting the umbrel nostr relay to there primal client? I have the same connection issue as mentioned by @TheDecentralizedVet … I cannot get primal to connect to my nostr relay. I did successfully manage to setup the nostr client, Damus on both ws://umbrel.local:4848 and ws://umbrel:4848 (while using tail scale).
Does the wss abbreviation (vs ws) mean it requires an ssl certificate as some of my research suggested this? I’m surprised if primal would require this but perhaps it does?
