Umbrel Home - Node going down daily

I recently upgraded to the Umbrel Home thinking that some of my intermittent issues of going offline would improve w/ more ram and upgraded hardware. The opposte has happened, I’m running the latest software yet my node goes offline almost daily (sometimes multiple times a day) for brief periods of time before coming back online.

What could be causing this? Whenever I log on and check usage, I’m only using about half my memory (mostly due to Bitcoin Node using almost 7 gb of ram, not sure how) and also only using about 800 gb of my 2 tb storage. It does not make any sense to me.

At least yours works … I bought a brand new one and it hasn’t worked from day 1. It says installing (whatever) and shows 1% … Then stops working and after a few seconds, it disappears. They are having MAJOR issues. With Hardware and software it seems. I’ve run a PI4 for a year and a half off the older umbrel w barely any issue. Like you I just wanted a beefy upgrade is all…

Having the same issue here. As a novice user, I was thrilled to come across Umbrel and the prospect of easily running a bitcoin node. But the lack of support for NVMe drives not being clearly identified cost me $120+ more than necessary and now I’m finding that the node constantly loses the support for logging in via the web browser.

It’s astonishing to me that a platform that boasts apps for media (like Plex), file storage (NextCloud) and Bitcoin Node doesn’t also support the storage that it requires. It makes no sense to me whatsoever.

This platform has enormous promise for non-tech users, but the current version, no support for the requisite hardware, and lack of clarity and communication has been bitterly disappointing.

Hi @doingbobthings apologies for any inconvenience here. We have better NVMe support coming with umbrelOS 1.2, coming very soon.

Hi @Diesel can you please reach out to us at support@umbrel.com with your order number. Thanks

Very much looking forward to that Umbrel presents a great solution for users who don’t have tech chops to get up and running, especially with something as complex as a Bitcoin node. I just think you guys dropped the ball no not making the incompatibility clear. The good news is that my solution works, Umbrel 1.x is gorgeous, and I’m anxious to upgrade from 0.5.4 soon.

Thanks!

This isn’t my post but I just wanted ot say i emailed support@ just now also. I bought a new home device almost a month ago and cannot install anything on it. Please help…
