Switching PI4 4Gb to Pi4 8Gb

Hello guys,

I have currently a raspberry Pi4 4Gb and I have received a raspberry 4 8Gb which I would like to use for my Umbrel server. My question is simple can I simply switch the SD and the SSD to the new raspberry or do I need to format everything and go with a clean install?

Yes,

  1. Shut down your old RPi node
  2. take the mSD (just in case, re-flash it with latest Umbrel version), plug it into new RPi,
  3. take the SSD drive and plug it into new RPi
  4. start the new RPi

Thank you, this is mostly what I did unless I didn’t reflash the sd card. Everything works well.
