Questions about BTC solo mining local setup

Hi all,
I have a noob question about my BTC solo mining setup

I have an Umbrel Home running Bitcoin Node and Public Pool
And e few BTC solo Miners (LuckyMiner, Bitaxe’s) mining on my local Public Pool

Everything seems to be working fine

However, I have a question about my setup: the only BTC address known to the system is the one provided by my miners.

I have no BTC address associated with my Bitcoin Node, neither with my Public Pool (other than the one provided by the miners)

If I am very Lucky and hit a bloc, will I get paid and how ?

I mined ETH in Pool for years when it was possible, and I was paid by the mining pool, so there was no mystery there,
but I have no clue how mining rewards payments are processed in case of solo mining (I would appreciate if someone can ellaborate on the matter !).

Thanks in advance for your rewards and explanations !

Philippe

Hey @Clannad!

When you solo mine, your miner directly sends the full block reward to the address it is configured to use. Since your miners have a BTC address set up, the reward will be paid to that address if you successfully find a block.

Your Bitcoin Node and Public Pool are just infrastructure that validates the block but do not influence where the reward is sent. If you want full control over the payout, you should configure your miners to use a wallet address you own.

I hope that helps!

Thanks denny for the clarification !
The BTC adress I use is an adress I own on a non-custodial wallet, so everything is ok I guess
Thanks again, this fully answers my question :slightly_smiling_face:
