New Bitcoin Core Illegible

After upgrading Bitcoin app on Umbrel to 1.0.3 it is no longer legible due to this ridiculous obsession with ‘dark mode’.

Please change it back to the way humans have been reading for thousands of years.

Thanks.

I disagree I think it looks fabulous.

Maybe you have good eyesight but for anyone with failing eyesight it’s much harder to read.

‘Light mode’ should be default, dark mode an option.

I’m more worried about the Bitcoin Node memory consumption since the last version…
It is a memory hog. But I agree. And It is not showing the Hashrate.

Yeah maybe you’re right and it should have a light mode by default.

Also please run Knots.

I am running Bitcoin Core, but everyone says to run Knots? Why? And if I install Knots, does it need to re-synch the entire blockchain again? And can I run both simultaneously?

Bitcoin Core developers are pushing out an upgrade that’ll, by default, turn off any spam filters which means that a lot more spam transactions will hit the network taking up vital storage space for node runners like yourself and me. Also it makes it harder and more expensive for normal monetary transactions to hit the network. Try and do some research because it depends what you see Bitcoin as. If you see it as money then run Knots. If you see it as a way to store meme jpegs and such then stick with Core.

Guide here on how to migrate to Knots without re-syncing.
