I have a few questions, about installation of umbrel os , I have an old dell laptop with a 2tb hard with windows 10 installed, due I need to install Linux before installing umbrel or can it be installed over the windows 10.
Also I have umbrel v5 on a raspberry pi and want to migrate my data to the laptop with umbrel v1
Anyone have suggestions on doing this
You just flash the UmbrelOS on to a USB and install it like you would any other linux OS
Ok thanks, do you have to download the BTC block chain over again or can it be transferred
I’m not sure if I’m the only one, but I can’t get this to install on a VM nor x86 system. I have been unable to boot from the latest ISO to a VM or Intel NUC. I’ve followed the instructions for both methods of installation with no luck. I have tried downloading and creating the image using the latest Balena Etcher with multiple USB flash drives on both macOS 15.5 and Windows 11 computers. On the Windows 11 computer, I also tried to transfer the image using Rufus. None of these methods have appeared to work. When I boot to the VM, it attempts an EFI and fails because of a media error. With the Intel NUC, if I get it to boot at all, it goes to a black screen. I have other Linux and Windows VMs running in my environment and I can install other OSes on the NUC. Is there anything else that I can try?
