I’m trying to install the OS, however, when I plug in the USB drive and boot, it just shows a black screen for a few seconds and then restarts my machine… I used the same program they ask for on GitHub (BalenaEtcher), but it doesn’t work.
If anyone can help me, I would be very grateful!
What hardware are you using?
Are you able to get to BIOS settings?
The hardware I’m using is an Intel Core 2 Duo T6500 2.4GHz, 4GB of RAM (2x2 DDR2), and a 1TB Samsung HDD.
I can access the BIOS.
Have you tried adjusting the boot priority?
There are multiple treads regarding issues the x86 image and lack of hardware support. I could not get the image to load on older hardware that on the same hardware would run Ubuntu 24.0x. I believe there is an issue with umbrel image supporting “finding the boot drive.”
if you click the F-key to access your bootable usb, it is shown that usb stick? Also, if you have problems with an image created with balenaetcher you can try with rufus, if you have access to a windows machine.
I understand… I would love to learn a bit with my older hardware until my mini PC arrives. But it looks like I’ll have to wait.
The USB drive is indeed shown in the BIOS, but when I set it as the boot priority, it just stays on the same blinking black screen.
