Introducing umbrelOS 1.4.1 with Files search, widgets, and more

umbrelOS 1.4.1 brings search to Files, two handy new Files widgets, real-time file transfer progress, richer media controls, and several performance improvements and bug fixes.

New features

  • File search: Search within the Files UI or from anywhere in umbrelOS with the global ⌘/Ctrl + K search.
  • Files widgets: Two new widgets - Favorites lets you open your pinned favorite folders, and Recents surfaces your recently modified files.
  • File transfers: Keep an eye on speed and ETA while copying or moving files in real-time.

Enhancements

  • Snappier navigation and load times across the OS.
  • When a duplicate file is detected, choose to ‘Skip’, ‘Replace’, or ‘Keep both’ before the transfer starts.
  • Infinite scrolling when browsing extra-large folders.
  • Preview controls: Cycle through photo, video, and PDF previews with ← / → arrow keys, and play/pause videos with the spacebar.
  • Additional bug fixes and stability improvements.

Great! Look forward to trying it out on my RPi5 and Mini PC.

Please tell me external storage is enabled for both? Also the networking stack is available to my mini pc.

I’m stuck on 1.2.2 every time I update it reboots and shows the update bar but when it boots up again it’s still 1.2.2. Does this update fix this update glitch?

not best update to my opion its restarting for like a 1 hour or longer since the update

The update didn’t work for me, after it restarted it was still on 1.4

Im running UmbrelOS on a Raspberry Pi 5
