Hey everyone, BASED Mining Pool ( www.basedmining.xyz ) just released an umbrelOS app. It’s available now via our community app store, and an official App Store submission is open at getumbrel/umbrel-apps PR #5874.
What the pool is: a solo Bitcoin pool with a 0% fee and a hybrid payout. When the pool finds a block, the miner who found it receives 1 BTC, and the remaining reward, about 2.125 BTC plus transaction fees, is split among all active miners in proportion to their shares that round. The split is written into the coinbase transaction itself and enforced by Bitcoin consensus, not by trust in the operator.
The pool is deliberately open to more than traditional hardware. We run NFT-based hashpower rentals for the EVM community (mint on Base, real rented hashpower gets pointed at the pool under your own address), and x402 support is coming soon so AI agents can rent hashpower and mine autonomously with no account and no human in the loop. Home miners, rented hashpower, and agents all compete in the same round under the same chain-enforced payout.
What the app does: - Live pool dashboard: hashrate, workers, best share, uptime, blocks found - Miner auto-discovery: it scans your local network for Bitaxe family AxeOS devices and can switch one to BASED Pool in one click. It shows the exact stratum settings before writing anything and never touches a device without your per-device confirmation. You can also add a device by IP. - My Stats: enter a BTC address and see your hashrate, workers, your current share of pool contribution, and the payout that share would represent if a block were found now.
