Does anyone know if Umbrel can be made to boot from USB rather than MicroSD?
Or does the SSD have to be solely for Blockchain data?
If so, what is the method?

yes, if you have a raspberry PI or any computer its the boot order. in raspberry PI imager choose NO FILTERS as the device" MISC utility images" as the OS then select PI4 OR 5 and it will ask what order USB,NVME,or NETWORK boot. you flash that on an SD with the PI imager and with NO SSD just the micro sd turn it on, screen will go green and ? it just works ? I don’t know how long to leave it in its worked every time.i think just powering it on and getting a green screen means your good?? (you choose the order( USB) before you flash the micro SD of course)
