It happened again. I tried to connect my Umbrel to WiFi and it did not survive a reboot to change the WiFi band (from 5g to 2.4), and now I can’t boot off of my NVMe to the OS at all. I can boot off of an mSD, so my guess is that the boot sector of the SSD got borked somehow. Is there a way to fix this without having to re-install the OS and download the Bitcoin blockchain all over again?

UPDATE: Tried to use a second Pi5/NVMe and trying to configure WiFi fails with the error "incorrect password’, then the screen changed to ‘something went wrong’. Yeah, no kidding. Now I can’t even manage to get the NVMe board or drive to recognize. I’ve re-flashed Bookworm multiple times to an mSD and it’s just not working. This doesn’t inspire confidence in Umbrel at this point, and it seems there’s no help from the dev team. Now all I have is a pretty silicon doorstop.

Even tho I like Umbrel OS and the project, I still don’t have that much trust in terms of stability. Atm my motto is If it works, don’t update. I’m still running 1.1 since the day I installed it. No problem so far.
