UmbrelOS doesn't boot & fan gets to the max

I have a Raspberry Ri 5 4GB RAM and a 2TB HDD for a bitcoin node, setup it correctly and worked well, but when it was about ~49% of blockchain sync I could no longer access umbrel.local from any device of the network. I don’t have a miniHDMI wire so I can’t connect a screen and see what’s going on, so I just turned it off and turned it back on a few hours later, and it did work again, but then when it was about ~58% I couldn’t connect from the web again, and I’ve rebooted it several times, the difference now is that when I turn it on, the fan it gets to the maximum speed without stopping (i’ve already left it 1h like this, and it’s still not working). I thought I’d reinstall the operating system on the microSD, but in the initial configuration it will remove all the HDD content and I don’t want to lose 2 weeks of download. If someone could help me, I’d appreciate it.

I’m no expert, but I don’t believe reflashing the SD card will affect the HDD info in any way…you may want to wait on someone to confirm or deny this before trying it out

Yup, if a Pi user is using an external storage drive, reflashing the system SD card is totally okay and won’t result in any data loss.

Are you able to SSH into the Pi while it is turned on?

Can you try running the following command from a terminal on your computer?

sudo ssh -t umbrel@umbrel.local

If umbrel.local doesn’t work, try using the IP address of the Pi. You can get the IP by using a utliity like Fing or accessing your router’s admin page and looking it up there.

  • On Windows, the terminal is known as Windows PowerShell or Command Prompt.
  • On macOS or Linux, search for Terminal.

If you manage to successfully connect, can you try running the following command to view the logs:

sudo journalctl -b -u umbrel.service

Nop, I excuted ping umbrel.local and show error.
Also I executed
user@computer:~$ sudo ssh -t umbrel@umbrel.local [sudo] contraseña para amnesia: ssh: Could not resolve hostname umbrel.local: Name or service not known user@computer:~$ sudo ssh -t umbrel@192.168.1.40 ssh: connect to host 192.168.1.40 port 22: No route to host
And the Pi is power on.
I going to reflash the SD card and say if it work. I checked in the umbrel page and yes, says that if the SSD have a configuration of Umbrel, are not going to delete all, in other case the Pi delete all

Okay, reflashing the SD where the solution but idk if its gonna happen again and why happens that
