Umbrel stopped working

received this below message when attempting to access Umbrel?

Replace your microSD card

It looks like the microSD card in your Raspberry Pi could fail soon. microSD cards are prone to wear and tear over time. But don’t worry, umbrelOS stores all of your data on the external USB drive.
Follow these steps to replace your microSD card:

  1. Shutdown your Umbrel.
  2. Disconnect the Rasbperry Pi from the power supply.
  3. Flash umbrelOS 0.5.4 onto a new microSD card (at least 16GB size).
  4. Replace the existing microSD card in your Raspberry Pi with the new one.
  5. Turn on the Raspberry Pi.
That’s it! Your Umbrel should continue to function normally after the replacement.

There is NO microSD card at all?? I opened up my ‘Bitcoin Machine’ because there was nothing visible and there is no microSD on the inside?

Please advise on either how to get node/Umbrel running again or at the minimum how to access my funds in the lightning wallet.

Hi bucky88 - try logging on to the Umbrel via another browser, and clear the cache of the one you were using when you received the error messages. This just in case you have the same thing going on as I had some months ago. I am not a “certified Umbrel helper” but while you wait for assistance from someone more knowledgable, this is easy to try, and it might work for you as it worked for me.

Orville,
Thank you very much for reaching out and responding. Sadly, this didn’t fix my issue. Very kind of you to reach out though, again Thank You.

in the past this error would be pop up more often with false flags in the update it was introduced but has been that problem was fixed, it’s tripped by a healthcheck, mostly like a degraded read/write speed on the card, are you able to replace the MicroSD card to pre-empt any issue? Replacing and reflashing the MicroSD card will result in no data loss

I have a ‘The Bitcoin Machine’ - and there is no MicroSD card in it at all. It about 18 months old. At this point, if you can just somehow get it up and running enough to get my funds off is imperative. What else can I do?

Hi @bucky88
Sorry to just repeat the above, and I may be wrong, but I believe all ‘Bitcoin Machines’ use the Raspberry Pi 4, so you should be able to find the SD card on the bottom here

OK - my Umbrel restarted, however, now it will not engage my Bitcoin node - it is in a perpetual state of ‘starting’. … advice?

Also - Big THANK YOU to all who responded

The debug script did not automatically detect any issues with your Umbrel.

Thanks

Unfortunately this suggests there may be an issue with your SSD, unless it hasn’t mounted properly on start-up. Could you please try restarting the Umbrel from the settings dashboard, and we can see if it mounts properly this time.
