Umbrel is dead after update from 1.3 to 1.4

Hi,

i’ve seen today the update while connecting to my Umbrel (raspberry pi 4 8gb) on WWW interface and decided to give it a go.

After a few minutes the WWW displayed a page asking me not to close the window nor reboot the raspberry pi, it stayed like this for a full hour but nothing happened then when I tried to connect through another tab, the ip adress was no longer responding. I then decided to reboot it manually but I had the same result (no ping answer and no www interface nor SSH).

I then decided to physically connect a screen and managed to see that Rugpi was correctly booting and managed to connect to the terminal (enabled only for debugging purposes). I then tried to manually run the update (sudo mender install https://download.umbrel.com/release/1.4.0/umbrelos-pi.update && sudo rugpi-ctrl system reboot --spare) which I found on another topic, but it seems it can’t even connect to the network anymore.

I could reinstall evertyhing but this is quite annoying as I had a few apps such as Memo and passky or some others on which I had some work done and no other backup anywhere…

If anybody know how to get back to previous version so I could get all my data back before eventually trying again to update umbrel ? it would be super helpful.

Thanks !

Ok my bad, umbrel is o dead, it was only due to the fact that it didn’t have any static ip adress and used Adguard as my DHCP server, which broke the whole configuration while rebooting.

I activated my router DHCP server and managed to get access to internet, then ran this cmd : sudo mender install https://download.umbrel.com/release/1.4.0/umbrelos-pi.update && sudo rugpi-ctrl system reboot --spare

Everything is back to normal. I just need to put a static ip adress and everything will be solved.
