Umbrel Home Power Supply

Hi, I received the Home with a US power plug/adapter. As it outputs a USB C, can I replace the adapter and use a USB C local plug, 230V, 50Hz. Not sure about the Amp max output and if thats an issue?

@Jonosgc1 Sorry for the confusion. We wouldn’t recommend replacing the power adapter since - as you guessed - correct amp output is critical. The good news is that a standard local plug converter (like this US to EU converter) works perfectly fine since our power adapter is rated to work on both 110V and 220V from 50Hz to 60Hz.

Several of our users have reported no issues with using a converter, so if you decide to order one for yourself, please let us know at support@umbrel.com (or our support chat on umbrel.com) and we’ll be more than happy to refund you the cost of the converter!

Hello, I just received the Umbrel Home and I am greatly disappointed that you just not ship the right Powersupply. I find an adaptor as you suggested unacceptable, as the bricks sticks further from the wall and easily the power gets disconnected by a cat walking by or something. That is unacceptable for a server kind of appliance. I am really mad.
So send me Euro power supply or I’ll make use of my EU right to return the Home for a refund.
Very disappointed right at unboxing…

Same here, a very bad start…
Did you manage to get a right to return ? Thinking about doing the same.

Very dissapointed.

Actually, I was helped by Alex very swiftly. I received free of charge a US-to-Euro plug that is very small, fits very firmly and that makes the adapter hardly stick out of the wall plug.
So I am satisfied.

Hi Henk, thanks a lot for your reply, makes me hopeful after all. I was just in touch as well with Alex, so hopefully it will be taken care of (still waiting for his reply).

Still I can’t understand why they are shipping it in the first place… knowingly it’s the wrong power supply for Europe. This can seem a minute detail for some, but this is very frustrating and I find it hard to believe I am one of the only few who seems to be bothered with this.

Same issue, i got a new power supply from argos. As they say though this is not recomended. I would have thought this would be in violation of (Safety) Regulations 1994, but i’m no lawyer. Either way it’s a pretty poor show.
