Umbrel Home Node bitcoin node app stuck on starting

the app is just stuck saying syncing, it was working before but I logged in now all I see is this. I’m a bit disappointed the umbrel home isn’t as plug and play as I thought :frowning: pls help

There’s not much we can do with the information you provide, but we’ll try.

I assume your hardware is a Raspberry Pi 4 with 8gb of RAM (Please confirm this later), I can see that your bitcoin node is “starting”, I don’t see it “stuck”. The fact that it takes quite a while to “Start” can be due to several factors such as not restarting the node for a long time and the device’s ram being somewhat saturated.

Now, it would help to know things like:

  • How long did you see it stay like this without responding?

  • Do you have other apps running alongside the bitcoin node? If so, are the others working fine?

  • Have you made any changes to the Raspberry lately?

  • Did you try or manage to update umbrelos to the most recent version?

  • By the way, what version of umbrelos are you running?

Hello, I am using an umbrel home, not a built raspberry pi, I reinstalled bitcoin core, it started syncing again, but I’ve woke up this morning and its done the same thing again, there are no other apps on the umbrel home

You say you reinstalled Bitcoin-core and it started syncing again. The next morning it did the same thing.

This raises a question for me, if it was already syncing at the beginning, Bitcoin node said “Running”. According to what you say, the next morning it said “starting” like in the image you posted initially?

Could you provide the bitcoin node log to see what errors it shows, please.
You can do this by connecting normally to umbrel, local»settings»Troubleshoot»App and select Bitcoin Node…
There you will open a window that will be filled with the node log.
This will give us more information about the possible problem.

On the other hand, you say that there are no more apps installed. Wouldn’t it be more convenient to do a clean installation of umbrel from scratch?.. this would ensure to eliminate any errors and/or their houses that you now have.

By the latter I mean that if there is no important data to recover, it is cheaper and faster to start from a new clean installation.
