Turned On Wifi - Now can't get back in

  1. Setup up with Cat 5
    192.168.1.21
  2. After set evertying up downloaded Bitcoin node and it was working for 2 hours
  3. Found how to use the WIFI settings
    1. found my wifi and entered in password
    2. Unplugged cat 5
    3. my local browser window went blank
  4. Rebooted my small computer
  5. unplugged cat5
  6. it gave me my ip at 192.198.1.192
  7. went to my computer (same one on the same network) and went to .192
  8. It timed out
  9. then tried the umbrel.local
    Timed out
  10. Tried to go back to cat 5 now i’m can’t get back access - Not sure WHY? would like it to be on WIFI so I can put it where ever I want as only have so many Cat 5 connections by desk

Update - Now i rebooted for the 3rd time

And got in with CAT 5 on the .192 address

Very odd

Now need to see why WIFI is not working - any suggestions

I know on my regular desktop, I can only have one active connection at a time. Cat5>WiFi. If you wish to set the wifi again, unplug the cat 5, and restart. It should work.

I wonder as I had many windows open

Hi, I think the issue is the ip address that was being used. The IP ranges for a home network device typically fall between 192.168.0.0 > 192.168.255.255.

Your wifi giving it 192.198.1.192 is probably the public IP for your home network and as such when you try going to it, it won’t display anything (unless you port forwarded something on port :80). When trying the wifi again, loggin to your router and see which devices are connected by wifi. Try the various IP’s it displays as http://192.168.xxx.yyy until you connect to your Umbrel.

check to make sure wifi isolation is not set in the router. This prevents networking to other machines on the network and only allows internet access.
