Bus error

The ls command and the docker ps took more than 5 minutes to return an answer.

The SSH terminal was one I was surprised to find open as I left it trying to connect last night and found it open this morning.

What next?

Bus error means hardware failure.
You have big problems there with your hardware. Orr maybe is just the power source. Start changing parts.

Guess you have a full or broken SSD…

Other than via SSH, i.e. the web interface and even creating paying and receiving sats is working absolutely perfectly! My other computer on the lan which accesses it via LND’s API (and even via LNBits API) are all working 100%.

I’m just back from buying a display cable so I can plug it in and see if that gives me any better idea what’s going on.

I managed to run ps -aux which gave me this: ps-aux.log · GitHub

And I looked at htop which shows very hi load averages >8 but without actual huge CPU usage or CPU temp.

Something weird is going on and maybe it is hardware but i’m not sure what.

@DarthCoin I did just pick up a new SD card and I’ve just flashed it. Is there any harm to shutting it down (if I can get it to do that) and bringing it back up with the new sd card in it?

Unfortunately the machine is still on 0.4.15 and the software I just downloaded from getumbrel.com is 0.4.16, not sure if that will cause an issue so I’m waiting till I hear from you or anyone.

Or perhaps I can pull 0.4.15 from somewhere.

Yes, good to go to reflash the mSD card after shut down.
Yes, is good to use always the latest version of umbrel.
All user data remain on the SSD, so reflashing the mSD card will not affect it.

Looks like it’s all fixed and I had a double failure!

The SD card was bad, replaced with a new one and flashed to 0.4.16 and everything is great (apart from losing my WiFi settings I now realise but I’m on LAN now so I don’t think I need this) and also my SSH key.

AND I had to replace my SECOND external HDD enclosure as that seemed to be bad as well.

Everything back up and happy and no sats lost.
