Thanks for information @DHD
Thanks @DHD really usefull to know so are the peers # related to the network as well?
Ideally will be nice to have information about the node itself in the dashboard. For example not sure why the temperature appears on the setting page? Isnāt an important information that should be monitored to improve the node performance?
Raspberry Pi 4 Model B Rev 1.4 - 8G ram
Fiber-Optic internet
Recent speed test : 439 MB down 83 MB up
No trick to share, sorryā¦
PS: Iām a complete noobs, hardly trying to understand Linux basic commands.
Thanks @Le_Gringeot, nice connection speed Do you mind sharing your detailed setup here?
it took me 2 months on the raspberry pi but it synced about 20% percent in 1 day then slowed drastically
A note to anyone thinking of using a hard drive⦠I went the cheap route and bought a WD Red drive. Set up Umbrel right before Thanksgiving and it finally finished syncāing on Feb 9th! Caveat Emptor!
Had 1% sync in less than 30min with the new hardware setup . Compared with the previous 1% in 1day using TheBitcoinMachine is a massive improvement and am expecting the bctCore sync to be completed in the next 3-4 days!
Look forward to responding to this poll asap!
Mac Mini 2012 - i5 3210M (2,5 Ghz) - 8G of Ram
Fiber connection (FTTLa) - 1G/60M
OS : Ubuntu Mate 21.10
It took me about 32 hours to sync.
I also use this trick to transfer it on my Pi4 and a classic HDD.
It took just over 3 months to sync.
I assume the length of time was due to the external drive being an HDD not an SSD?
System:
Raspberry Pi 4 Model B/4GB
2 TB Seagate One Touch HDD USB 3
After replacing my HDD with a SSD, the initial sync took a little over 5 days. I am using a RPi4 4GB with gigabit internet from Xfinity and connected directly to the router. I think it would have gone faster but I live in an apartment in the city so bandwidth gets pretty limited during the day. Instead of the recommended SSD I went with a INLAND Platinum 1TB external SSD (USB3.2 Type-C). It has read and write speeds up to 1100MB/s and 1000MB/s respectively. Not sure if this had any effect on my sync time.
Iām trying to do a fresh install on an NVMe and having no luck. I think it might be the case, as Iāve tried multiple cable/adapter combos. Saw another post that Realtek RTL9210 are not supported - thatās my case. Hoping to find a combo that works.
Hi, i installed Umbrel on rpi about 2 months ago, itās the 4GB RAM version, 4TB HDD. Unfortunately after 2 months it had only reached 48% synced
I just switched to an SSD today to see if this might help as seen some recommendations above, itās only at 2% so still early but the hashrate is at 1 PH/s so initally it seems to be syncing faster (even on these early blocks)
Iām also running a 2012 Mac Mini (i5)! 16 GB ram and a 2 TB HDD.
Sync took about 55 hours on 50M/50M fiber. Was actually surprised by the speed given the HDD
what I am currently averaging right now. 63% synced after 2 days
8 days, Raspberry 4GB, 1TB SSD Scandisk, LAN 50Mb
I unfortunately used a spinning drive as well, but it only took me 3.5 weeks. Gah! RasbPi 4
Raspberry Pi 4 Computer Model B 8GB
Crucial MX500 2TB 3D NAND SATA 2.5 Inch Internal SSD
Samsung PRO Endurance 32GB 100MB/s (U1) MicroSDXC Memory Card
20 download 2 upload DSL internet speed
First 24 hours 27.65%
After 24.5 hours increased Cache size from 450 to 700
then lower from 700 to 650 when the download seemed to get slower
CPU Temp increased by 5°C
Iām guessing 4 days
Rpi 5, 8GB, 2TB SSD USB 3.0 connected. Umbrel 1.0, took 28 hours for the blockchain and an additional around 4 hours for Electrs.
Umbrel Home 2023 (U130120) with cache size optimization
Blockchain: ~ 12,5 Hours
Electrs: ~ 1,5 Hours
Lightning Recovery: not worth mentioning
