From hybrid to tor only - how?

I want to stop publishing my IP and go back to tor only. I have toggled the hybrid mode button back to off, and restarted the node a couple of times, but Amboss, Mempool and LNDg still see my clearnet IP. What to do?

I assume you mean local ip. Like 192.x.x.x

This is normal behaviour and how you should be accessing your node locally.

Tor is for outside to inside.

Use a vpn and your local ip when youre away and its much faster and still secure.

Tor hides your ip from others.

I mean my IP on clearnet. (like 157.xxx.xxx.xx) When the node operates on clearnet, as it does in hybrid mode, the (external) clearnet IP is published for lightning explorers like Amboss and Mempool to use. That is how the explorers can know the nationality of the nodes. It looks like my clearnet address keeps being published even though I am back to tor only.

I can tell you mine is not. Close the port on your router so nobody can connect to it on clearnet. That will at least stop that, Maybe it takes time to fall off.? I dunno. Ive always used tor only and forced everything through
Sorry for the misunderstanding

I can see in my config file that the parameter externalhosts is still set to my old dns, which I am not maintaining. What is the default value for that parameter with tor only? Is it just empty, or can I remove that parameter completely?
And how do I edit lnd.conf with the latest version of Umbrel?

Solved on my end; details…

At http://umbrel.local:2100/ I’ve configured:

Advanced Settings, Peer Settings

Outgoing Connections to Clearnet Peers
OFF

Outgoing Connections to Tor Peers
ON

Make All Outgoing Connections to Clearnet Peers Over Tor
OFF

Outgoing Connections to I2P Peers
ON

Using the above, my http://umbrel.local:3002/peers (Bitcoin Core 28.0.0 on umbrelOS 1.3) shows:
NetType Count
onion 22
i2p 4
not_pub 1

Network:
Host 10.21.21.8:8332
Peers 26 (16 in; 10 out)
ipv4 (none)
ipv6 (none)
onion (10.21.22.10:9050)
i2p (10.21.22.11:7656)

Addresses:
********************************************************.onion:8333(score: 4)
****************************************************.b32.i2p:0(score: 4)

So…
Consider similar, then reboot, then re-check http://umbrel.local:3002/peers

I removed the externalhosts parameter from the config file and the DDNS settings from my router, which gave the result I wanted.
