I updated from 1.5 to a 1.7.3 and got stucked at the Restarting screen. I left it alone for a few hours but the device never came back. My router is not seeing it which makes me think the OS is failing to boot. I was out on vacation and I didn’t think much of before trying to update and didn’t make any backups…
How can I debug or fix this? I’m also fine with rescuing the little data I had on it. I can connect the SSD into another computer for this. I just need some help knowing what parts I would need to rescue.
Thanks for the reply. I can’t ssh because the router doesn’t see the device. That’s why think the OS is completely failing to boot. I will connect a monitor and mouse/keyboard and see what I gather from there.
I was able to borrow an HDMI-miniHDMI cable and connect a monitor. Now I know it’s not logging in. I need to borrow a wired keyboard now…
Once I was able to login into my Umbrel i fixed it by running
sudo rugix-ctrl system reboot --spare
Once it rebooted I was able to access through umbrel.local. Umbrel is back at umbrelOS 1.5 and seems to be running fine.
