Community Apps migration 0.5.4 to 1.1 for Linux

Will community apps which are already installed on my 0.5.4 distro migrate over to 1.1? I do not want to take the plunge then lose those apps. Primarily, I want Bitcoin Knots to work properly with other apps as an alternative to Core. In order to get this to work on 0.5.4 was to run the community app version and then install additional apps via command line.

Will Knots work properly and allow for enhanced features in 1.1?

The answer seems to be no. Even doing a new install of 1.1, entirely… Bitcoin Knots from the community store will not load at all. Not talking migration, I mean at all. Also, the Knots version in the store does not work as the necessary dependency for other programs which require core or knots. Not good.
