Hello,
On an Apple Silicon M3 Mac, the Bitcoin node app on my Umbrel home can’t be accessed on Brave or Chrome. I open the page in Safari and it works fine.
Also, the dashboard in Umbrel.local says the node is 83% synced with the blockchain but that’s not possible because it’s only been syncing for 20 minutes and in the app it says 0.13%.
Anyone know why these things would be happening? I’m happy it’s working but would like to understand what’s going on here, thanks.
Go to settings on your Mac. Then Privacy and Security. Then find Local Network. Turn on Brave or Chrome or both. You’ll connect. Not sure about your sync problem but log out and log back in to see if it changes.
Thanks for your response.
Unfortunately, before I even implemented this, my Umbrel became inaccessible. “Umbrel.local” just gives the following error:
" This site can’t be reached
umbrel.local’s DNS address could not be found. Diagnosing the problem.
DNS_PROBE_POSSIBLE"
This is exactly the same thing that happened to me when I was running Umbrel OS on a raspberry pi, only this time, the problem came up for no particular reason. It just stopped working.
Last time, I thought I screwed it up by unplugging without shutting down properly.
This time, literally nothing happened - a few days ago it was working fine, now I can’t get in again.
Why is this happening? It must be something about my local network/router/DNS settings, correct? I got the Umbrel Home because I thought it wouldn’t have these kinds of problems, heard from a friend it was great.
Update - I just tried visiting umbrel.local on my phone and it came up with the log in page. Something about my Mac screwing things up somehow? I’ll try re-starting and refreshing browser caches.
Edit: re-booted and now I’m back in. Allowing local network permission for Brave did the trick. Thanks again.
