what is happening and what should i do?

make sure your drive isnt dead, check the cables

the cables are fine in my opinion

The error occurs when the software tries to read the “undo” data (transaction reversal information) for a specific block from the disk, but the data at the specified file position (FlatFilePos) is unreadable or malformed (specifically, a variable-length integer indicating size is too large to be valid). This is almost always due to physical data corruption on the hard disk drive (HDD) or Solid State Drive (SSD) where the blockchain data is stored.

Potential underlying causes for the disk corruption include:

  • Weak or unstable power supply to the device
  • Failing storage drive hardware.
  • Sudden power outages or improper shutdowns during write operations.
  • Faulty data cable connecting the drive
