Hi, running Umbrel OS 1.5. I have it doing automatic backups to a network drive via Tailscale to a Mac OS machine via SMB.
They’re both technically on the same physical network but because one is my private home network, and the other is at a restaurant in the same building, I connect them together via Tailscale.
Anyway, it all works except periodically, like every 2 or 3 days, I’ll get a notice saying backups haven’t been done in over 24 hours. When I click on view backups, the lines for “total backups” and disk spaces just spin forever.
Here’s the interesting thing. I SSH to the Umbrel machine, and go to /home/umbrel/umbrel/network/[Tailscale IP of the Mac server]/ and do an “ls”, I can see the folders in there, like everything is connected.
And once I do that, the backup screen on the Umbrel web interface will show the total backups and disk spaces like nothing happened. And backups resume on their own after that.
What do you think is happening here?
