I’ve been reading your comments on the Discord channel and I see you’re still here with the same thing. I think you have some confused ideas about this, and I’ll try to shed some light on the matter at hand.

You’re under no obligation to buy an Umbrel Home for extra storage. In fact, even if you did buy an Umbrel Home, you’d only be able to, for the time being, have Umbrel Home detect that extra storage, but you wouldn’t be able to natively install apps on it. The reason is simple: Umbrel developers are relying on a rather questionable business model, with misleading advertising and sloppy restrictions to force most users to buy an Umbrel Home.

Every software, regardless of whether it’s an umbrelos, needs minimum hardware requirements. And this is the case, whether you like it or not, whether you agree with it or not. The fact that you have a desktop your grandmother gave you and also an m.2 NVMe PCIe drive that the desktop your grandmother gave you doesn’t support isn’t anyone’s fault. They’re simply incompatible. You’d better buy a device that’s compatible with the m.2 NVMe PCIe drive you already have to minimize costs and take advantage of what you already have… or the more difficult option: if you insist on exercising your “right” to use the desktop your grandmother gave you, you’ll have to learn and try to “hack” the desktop so it accepts the drive. There are people who have done things like this, but as a project for entertainment and fun, not with the attitude and mindset you display.

As I told you, it’s not mandatory to buy an Umbrel Home. You can find similar or better devices for half the price online. You can even continue using the desktop your grandmother gave you. But you’ll have to learn and work around the restrictions that umbrel developers try to impose. Honestly, it’s not difficult, but the vast majority of users don’t want to do it. They want everything easy, just one click away, and if someone else can do it for them, even better. Incidentally, if they spent the time they spent complaining instead of learning, they’d have different results.

Both on Discord and here on the forum, “official support” exists only in name. It’s neither seen nor expected. The Umbrel developers have long since abandoned their users. Including those who bought the Umbrel Home. Help comes from other users, like you and me. Yes, I know. This is terrible, but it is what it is. Life is like that, and if you don’t have the ability to adapt to circumstances… well, you’re going to have a terrible time for the rest of your life.
If you’re interested in going beyond complaining and moving on to solving your problems, here are two short manuals I made some time ago that can help you in this regard.
