Umbrel Home and USB Ports

Hi all, I just purchased the Umbrel Home and this is my first time getting myself self hosted. I was wondering what the USB ports could be used for? Would it be possible to add an external ssd/hdd for increased storage and backups?

We don’t have a native option for adding extra drives just yet, but the USB ports serve multiple purposes at the moment including:

  1. For migrating from other devices to the Umbrel Home seamlessly
  2. It allows people to set-up self-hosted IoT applications with their Home, which sometimes requires USB dongles
  3. Also, it can be a way to fix booting/access issues
