Unable to compute new partition table Insufficient space can not add partition 6

Hi,

I’m new to umbrel OS, first time installing it but I keep getting “Unable to compute new partition table Insufficient space can not add partition 6” What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

hey, that error suggests umbrelOS can’t fit the partitions it needs onto the drive it’s trying to use, but it’s hard to tell why without a bit more info.

What are you installing on: a Raspberry Pi, a PC, or a VM? Also, how big is the drive you’re installing to, and which umbrelOS image did you download? If you’re using a USB stick for the installer, include its size separately from the destination drive.

A photo of the full error screen would help too. I’d hold off on deleting or resizing any partitions until it’s clear which drive it’s complaining about.

Hi, I’m installing it on a mini PC

Specs Intel Celeron 3865U 1.8GHz 2 Cores, 4GB RAM, 128GB SSD. Will unbrel OS work on that specs? I tried 2.0 beta and 1.7.4 both same error. I’m using USB stick and use balena to create the USB stick installer. The SSD is clean no partition. Thank you.

Same problem. Booting from 16Gb USB Drive (I tried two different USB drives), on baremetal PC

The problem was the 16Gb Pendrive. No issue using a 32Gb pendrive

I’m alao using a 16gb pen drive. I’ll try a 32gb later. Thanks.

You’re correct it requires at least 32gb USB drive.

And it’s on umbrel website.

And to install umbrel OS on internal storage device the image to download should be Onboard storage or an internal drive.
