umbrelOS 1.3 is now out with swappable apps, Cloudflare DNS, and more

Hi Luke,

thanks for your support.

Here are my answers to your questions:

I’m using now Raspberry Pi 5 with a USB Drive Samsung SSD T5 1TB.

sudo fdisk -l gives me the following:

bash: fdisk: command not found

No I did not run the update or upgrade command. What I did one month before, I had everything running on my Raspberry Pi 4 and then moved the drive to the Pi 5.
After that everything worked like a charm and much faster then with the Pi 4 until I ran the update to v1.3 from the Umbrel Web-UI.

I will run the command and let you know about the results.

Update process is ongoing and this is what I can already see:

The update process went through, but I can’t judge right now if it worked. I need to wait for an hour to see if the issue reappears. I’ll keep you updated.

30 Minutes later ;-):
Ok after roughly 30 Minutes, none of the apps is reacting anymore. I can’t start the Bitcoin Node, nor the Lightning Node etc. So it looks like a similar issue what aenato described but I have only one SSD connected.

Also the connection via SSH is not possible anymore. I will power it down now and wait for further instructions.

I tried that command three time. But it was stuck on version 1.2.2 RPi 4

Why is Bitcoin Core not working now since the update? I know i’m not the only one having these issues. I’ve tried deleting the .json files and clearing the docker. What changed that caused all these issues? Just glad I only use this for Electrs/Nostr and don’t try to store any bitty on here like others. This seems to happen everytime an update comes through.

That worked like a charm on my Raspberry Pi 4 – thanks!

After upgrading to 1.3 and installed/downloaded Knots I was able to switch the Lightning node from Core to Knots , however when I switch Electrs, it stucks Connecting to Electrs server.

This is the error showed in logs:
electrs_electrs_1 | Error: electrs failed
electrs_electrs_1 |
electrs_electrs_1 | Caused by:
electrs_electrs_1 | 0: failed to open bitcoind cookie file: /data/.bitcoin/.cookie
electrs_electrs_1 | 1: Permission denied (os error 13)

Can anyone hint any workaround?

For me upgrading reboots then when it’s back online it hasn’t upgraded. I’m still on the previous version.

sry guys my bad. i resolved the issue with @denny in a private conversation. my issue was that i ran sudo apt update etc…

edit: fix was that i had to reflash
