Having some issues with Public Pool I have had a Bitaxe Super and a Nerd Miner running off it with no issues always displays the hash rate. Recently picked up a Canaan Avalon Nano 3
it connects to the pool and will display the hash rate randomly and sometimes just disappears from the Public Pool page. However, the Public Pool Hashrate chart is correct showing 3.0-3.5 TH/s and I know my Nerd and Super aren’t doing that alone, lol. If I login the miners web interface the uptime is good and hardly any rejected… Not sure what this could be.
Does this miner or cgminer have any known issues with this version of Public Pool? If I connect to web.public-pool.io it will work fine and always show the hash rate? Is this an older version on Umbrel?
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Public Pool, Restarted Node, Defaulted the Nano 3 always the same result.
Hi there, were you ever able to get to the bottom of this? I experiencing the exact same things as you. I know the nano is hashing but it drops off constantly, seems it cant keep a connection long enough to show any hashrate in public pool on my node? Also it’s not cgminer as I have a gekko compac f that uses it and it connects fine alongside my bitaxes as well.
Did you get to the bottom of this? I’m having the same issue. It seems the nano’s cant stay connected long enough so public pool cant report a proper hashrate. Its not cgminer as I have a gekko compac connected and hashing just fine alongside my bitaxes.
@Catnip@RainBitcoins can look into this. yes current app store version isn’t the latest release.
we’ve had reports in the past of public-pool going down a lot on devices with low RAM, but this doesn’t sound like the case here.
@smolgrrr@RainBitcoins No nothing yet. However it works fine on public-pool.io and kano.is. So it’s not the miner. The fact that it works on public-pool.io shows it must be the app version on Umbrel. Hopefully they will update it soon.
I think that it has to be something related to the public pool app… I have several and they work great!
Also, if you want to control your Avalon Nano from the command line, I just made a tool for that… I have several around the house to help heat the bedrooms, and with this cli tool I am able to automate power changes through out the day, based on the production of my solar panels, and at night switch off the led for kids to sleep, all from cron jobs on my server and home assistant.
Are you using the Public pool app on Umbrel and it works fine for you with the Avalon Nano 3 ?
If so, could you please let us know how do you use it successfuly ?
