Ebb and flow of transactions?

Hello, everyone. I have a relatively new node. Building my channels and have 19 now. I notice that transactions will happen in bursts. Had a bunch this AM, but then none for 10 hours, for example. My node was online the whole time.

Is that just the way things are with the network still growing or could it be a fee thing? Most of my channels have 0 base fee and 100 - 150 fee rates. Thanks!

Hard to say, but I think you have the right conclusion.
Thunderhub (LNDg too I believe) can be a great tool for investigating this.

Another factor I suspect, maybe, is that in some cases a node may route payments through a specific channel of yours until incoming/outgoing liquidity is depleted, in which it moves to a different node from that point.
