Dell 3070 Cant see NVME Drive

Hi Guy!

I have a Dell Optiplex 3070 with a 2 TB Samsung NVME drive, but Umbrel can’t see it duringinstallation.

So I have installed a 1 TB SATA spinning drive, and it works out of the box. I have tried to clone the 1 TB SATA over to the 2 TB NVME drive, but it wouldn’t boot past the Grub. Also tried to install Umbrel again via a USB but it only see the USB drive.

Ideally, i would like to clone the drive over to the NVME as it took 1 week to download all the blocks.

Please help?

Does the 2 TB drive show up in the BIOS?

Hi, Yes it does show up in the BIOS. This is a 2nd NVME SSD that the OS can’t detect.

Maybe it is the PCIE controller on the Dell 3070 it can’t see, if that is a case is there a way to inject drivers?

Are you running the latest BIOS for your Dell? (Version 1.4.4 I believe). Also did you check for firmware updates on your Samsung 2TB drive? I always use Samsung Magician to check for the latest version and update my firmware before I use the drive….
