Thanks, appreciate that , I’m not very good on command line code, to get it correct Is there a site I could go to where I can cut and paste the re-indexing commands or Would you mind typing the reindexing code exactly as it would look,
Hi, those instructions were for Bitcoin Core app, but it wasn’t from the command line. It was done through the Bitcoin Core app. That being said you can still follow those steps as I confirmed that it exists in Knots.
Go into Knots > Settings > Advanced > add reindex=1 in the Custom bitcoin.conf section > Save Overrides. After it finished reindexing, remove that value as otherwise on any restart of the app it will re-index which will take a while.
Trying to reindex and knot continues to stop running, would I have this same issue if I switch to bitcoin core instead. and are these issues being on umbrel , I’m not having this issue with start9
In this case, if you dont have a wallet attached try to uninstall then reinstall Knots. Alternatively, if you don’t care which app you are using, you could also try Bitcoin Core like the other commentor mentioned.
ok , is there a big different when re-indexing chainstate and just re-indexing , also would shutting down connected apps like electrs help when re-indexing
if i want to switch back to core 29.2 how Cani do that , in Umbrel App Store will it give me the option to chose the version of core I want to use
Reindexing chainstate I believe is faster. Looking at the logs your originally provided you should attempt that first. Instructions are the same but instead of reindex=1 you will use reindex-chainstate=1.
For using the 29.2 Bitcoin Core, it is in the application itself not the app store where you pick this. It’s in Bitcoin Core’s Setting menu.
Yes, you seem to have a blockchain error. Reset your parameters to default values and check that there is sufficient space on your drive and that you have enough RAM. Then re-index the blockchain. What hardware are you using?
I’m new here. I downloaded it along with the public pool. I only have these two things on my mini PC. I want to ask: after downloading Bitcoin Core, do I have to make any adjustments, or does it just download and that’s it?
