Plex + NVIDIA Hardware Transcoding

I’m running UmbrelOS on Proxmox and passthrough a Nvidia GPU for exclusively use of this VM, intending to use it as Plex hardware trancoding device but Plex doesn’t show my Nvidia GPU in the settings, so I did a little research and found some sites telling to add the parameter “runtime: nvidia” to the docker-compose.yml (I already own a Plex subscription).

I tried to add it to the default docker-compose.yml Plex file (/home/umbrel/umbrel/app-data/plex/docker-compose.yml) but then when I reboot, the Plex app in the Umbrel WebUI says it is “Not running”.

Any ideas on how can I get this working?

Hiya @thunderstorm, it’s probably worth looking into some log files specifically for your plex app. Go to settings > Troubleshooting > App > Plex > Download Plex Logs. It’s likely not running because it failed to start/crashed. Logs will help you locate the reason why it may have crashed.
