Hello!
I’ve just updated my umbrel to 1.2.2 and it looks like everything is clean and new. Is there a way to restore all my apps and data?
What do you mean by that? That all your data is lost and the “factory settings” have been made?
Yes, it looks like a clean install. No installed apps, just the naked system.
Can you attach your log files?
Hey @phl Sorry to hear that you faced this.
Before concluding anything, I would like to understand your Umbrel Setup. Are you Umbrel Home user or your are using UmbrelOS with Raspberry Pi/x86/VM.
If you can add further to your response, what commands or procedure you followed to update UmbrelOS.
These details will help Umbrel Team to quickly conduct tests and fix if any issues persists.
I hope you followed the guides shared by @mayank here: How to update to umbrelOS 1.0
Thanks.
I am UmbrelOS user on a RPi5.
Umbrel on an SD Card, and everything was installed on an SSD disk.
I’ve updated Umbrel via Update button in web interface’ Settings.
Here: Access via Synology
Apparently you ran the wrong update file.
Did you use this image?
https://download.umbrel.com/release/1.2.2/umbrelos-pi5.img.zip
I clicked the Update button in the web interface, and the process was not interactive, so I am unsure what image was used. Did I lose everything?
Sorry, I can’t help you.
Maybe you could contact support directly. They are very helpful and will try to help you.
Thank you!
I did. Still waiting for the answer since 8th of August.
I am in EXACTLY the same situation, I did the update from the cpanel in umbrel, I TRUST that when they roll out an update, that its tested. On top, I was forced to create a new login and password from the umbrel.local/onboarding. REALLY UNHAPPY! NONE of my apps are loaded, I have only 44GB of space left on a 1TB drive, so I assume that all my data and channel backups are present. Just FURIOUS that I was FORCED to create a new username and password. Going to contact umbrel support directly. Surprised that no one else is complaining about this. Hey, it could just be my lucky day?
I’m experiencing a similar issue.
Check your SSD, my situation was due to a failing SSD, not recoverable, so I installed a new 2TB drive and I am in the process of rebuilding the blockchain before I can recover my umbrel. In future, I am going to make a clone drive of the block chain to accelerate recovery.
