I received a new Umbrel Home unit that appears to be faulty out of the box, itself reporting on logs a hardware fault. I purchased a warranty with the Umbrel Home and despite intial contact with Umbrel Support a week ago Umbrel terminated the chat and haven’t responded to any of my seven emails and eight chat messages since. I have also emailed Umbrel business partner development (the only other address published on their web site) but neither support or business development have responded in days. I am about to report my findings to trading standards to enquire if Umbrel Inc may either have ceased trading or if they are taking customers’ money under false pretences. If any of the community have any current information on either Umbrel’s trading status OR any method by which they, or their liquidators, can still be contacted I would be grateful. Thank you in anticipation.
I’d be pretty shocked to hear Umbrel is completely shuttered since they just released a YouTube video about setting up OpenClaw on the Umbrel Pro the same day you posted this.
I’m going to guess that either their support team is overworked, understaffed, and underpaid (likely), they fired the support staff that was helping you from their job (also likely), or they are overwhelmed by the response from a new product launch (less likely).
Feel free to report their lack of support to a governing body though. It can’t really hurt if you have consumer protections you can leverage.
