With the introduction of shortcuts, which are genuinely useful, the next step should be giving users more control over how apps are organized. There should be options to sort apps by name, date installed, or allow full manual arrangement.
Folder creation should also be supported. For example, I would like to create a “DeFi” folder containing various DeFi shortcuts, or a “Finance” folder grouping links to banks, brokerages, and personal finance tools. I think folders would allow users to have a better and more organized experience with Umbrel.
I also think users should be able to remove apps from the home screen without uninstalling them, or hide apps entirely. Since the home screen is becoming more of a hub, a search function should also be added to allow easier navigation through the OS. Overall, the home screen and App Store experience both need a broader structural redesign.
