Umbrel Pro pricing to india

the website shows umbrel pro cost is inclusive of tax so there is no customs or anything more right???

Hey! Unfortunately, seeing “inclusive of tax” doesn’t mean you’re totally off the hook for customs duties. Usually, it just means they’ve baked in the standard local tax (like GST or VAT) at checkout. But when the actual hardware hits the border, the customs office is still going to slap a separate import duty on it.

If you dig into Umbrel’s official shipping policy (Point 7), they actually call this out: “Unless noted on the checkout page that customs duties, taxes, and other fees associated with the order are included, customers will be responsible for them.”

You can see this in action if you play around with the checkout for different regions. If you set the shipping destination to Japan, the page explicitly updates to say, “Experience effortless delivery with all duties and fees included in your purchase”. But if you switch it to India, it drops the customs part. This means those border duties aren’t prepaid, and DHL (or whatever courier Umbrel uses) will likely hit you with a clearance bill online right before they deliver the box to your door.

(I’ve attached some screenshots below comparing the Japan and India checkout screens so you can see the exact wording difference)

Atleast this is how I think it works.. maybe someone can correct me if I am wrong. Hope this helps!

The screenshots that I attached above are for Umbrel Home but I think my point about customs holds true for Umbrel Pro as well:
