I would like to add the process (as being pinged here for manual retrieval of files referencing this post elsewhere in the forum, and I”m just a member of the community now, a former member of the team and that this process is not intended to be manual any longer)
that this is all automatic as demo’d here https://x.com/umbrel/status/1562099972547690501
With new logic and versions as the team continuously is improving things, you can see in that demo officially by the Umbrel team you can recover channels and your backup files without worry about the more painstaking process of copying any of the two state files manually that can cause lots of problems if the docs in the LND spec are followed incorrectly by anyone tinkering (as a word of caution for any manual changes).
It’s all automated but a good rule of thumb when recovering your Umbrel is to close your channels first if you anticipate moving instances and balance out channels (and practice sensible things like just opening channels with reputable people, or services and liquidity providers that won’t go offline on you and avoiding catastrophic events caused by like a non-official PI 5 power supply),
You can also follow the awesome built-in features to migrate from another device like an old Pi 4 to an Umbrel Home, and get you up and running fast that makes this all much easier in their new user-friendly UI
