Reach, Iām just getting up to speed on everything. Would you mind explaining the triangle thing and why we do a triangle instead of opening inbound channels between 2 nodes? Thanks!

Yeah, love to explain it. The goal of swapping liquidity is to get inbound while getting outbound and improving your connectedness.
You could just swap with one node. It will mean a on chain transaction each to get 2 channels between you and you are then linked with 1 new peer. But if there is a 3rd person, forming a triangle is still a on chain transactions each, but you are now connected to 2 new peers.
Besides being redundant, having 2 channels to a node isnāt as good as putting all the liquidity into one channel. Say you have 2x 1M channels vs 2M channel, in the first case, you can only route 1M payments, while you can route 2M payments with the bigger channel (or more likely, if the channels are balanced the max size transactions are 500k vs 1M).
Sounds good. We can ask the next person that wants liquidity to open a channel to me and you open a channel to them.

Fantastic! Iām starting up my umbrel node, opening some lightning channels and learning a lot. If somebody is willing to open a channel with my node, I can open channels back of around 300k to 600k.
