Why does it always take so long to get the Hermes Agent App updated and there is mostly less than the original version when it comes to new features. That is very annoying.

I guess I will delete the hetmes agent app and install it as a docker. Like that there is no delay of updates. I seriously dont know why it takes so long.
I had a look through the app repo because I was curious about this.
Hermes v2026.7.1 was released on July 1 and the Umbrel update landed on July 6, so there was a wait of around five days. The follow-up here was posted on July 5, and the update actually arrived the next day. The latest v2026.7.7.2 release is also available on Umbrel now. Looking at the older releases, the delay is usually somewhere around 1–5 days.
The Umbrel app also seems to use the matching upstream Hermes release rather than a reduced version. One possible source of confusion is that the Hermes release notes cover the web dashboard, terminal interface and native desktop app together. Features made specifically for the desktop app wont necessarily show up in the browser version on Umbrel.
I can understand wanting updates right away, especially with how quickly Hermes is changing. Running it separately in Docker may get new versions a few days earlier, but it also means handling the container, updates and persistent data yourself. If there’s a particular feature that seems to be missing, it might be worth mentioning the exact one on the getumbrel/umbrel-apps repo since it could simply be desktop-only.
