CPU working above 80 degrees after upgrade. Be carefull!

After 2.0:

cat /sys/class/thermal/thermal\_zone\*/temp
27800
85000 (85ºC Av. Temp.)

On 1.7.4:

at /sys/class/thermal/thermal\_zone\*/temp
27800
50000 (50ºC Av. Temp.)

Is there anything I can do to get it working again at temperatures below 60 degrees?

I’m curious about the CPU usage and which processes are using it. Also, what device is it on? Is it still doing it?

Most likely it’s the initial indexing for the faster file search, new Photos app, etc. keeping the CPU busy after the upgrade. I’d give it a couple of hours to finish, though it could take longer if you have lots of files. Temperatures should hopefully settle back down once that’s done.

If it’s still running that hot after that, checking what’s using the CPU in `top`, as suggested above, would be a good next step.

what is your hardware? I have no problem like that here…running at 39°. What’s your outside temperature?

That was the case. The process consuming all the CPU was ‘node’, and apparently, it was the indexing mentioned earlier.
