I have a new Umbrel Home unit and really loving the experence but seeing a odd behaviour that after a day or so the unit seems to be unable to connect to the public internet, even thought I can still connect to it locally via:
[http://umbrel.local/](http://umbrel.local/) & ssh -t umbrel@umbrel.local

```auto
umbrel@umbrel > sudo ping 1.1.1.1
ping: connect: Network is unreachable
```

If I restart it all works again via;
`sudo systemctl restart NetworkManager`

Before I go and Create a systemd service to auto-restart I was hoping I’m missing something more basic, do I just need to set a static IP on the local network (no other devices are having this issue).

I checked the the DNS and cloudflare seems fine;

```auto
cat /etc/resolv.conf
# Generated by NetworkManager
nameserver 1.1.1.1
nameserver 1.0.0.1
```

# All help welcome.

# Device: Umbrel Home (2024) Model number: U130121 OS: umbrelOS 1.1.2

We are aware of a networking issue that may be causing this. Can you please try these steps here and let us know if that helps:
Navigate to Settings (http:umbrel.local/settings) \> Advanced Settings \> Enable the Beta updates program. You can then close that module and select ‘Check for update’, please then update to umbrelOS 1.2 Beta 1.

Thanks @smolgrrr 🙏 for responding so quickly. I’ve followed your advise and now running the Beta. I’ll update this thread in a few days to confirm issue has been resolved but happy to assume this is the fix. 👍

I think [Umbrel server (x86) keeps disconnecting after 2-3 days - #12 by mathieuletyrant](https://community.umbrel.com/t/umbrel-server-x86-keeps-disconnecting-after-2-3-days/17611/12) is the same issue.

I followed the update advice when I had a similar issue and I’ve been stable for a few days now so it should hopefully work for you @bill
