I’m thinking of expanding and getting another miner. I’m currently mining with an Avalon S3 6T/H. I had a little NerdAXE that seemed of poor quality and worked for a year or so then quit. I’d really like to get an Avalon Q 90T/H but it’s a little pricey upfront, even though it’s cost of $1,750 is only about $19.44 per T/H vs the S3 @ $48 per T/H @ $293 price. The Nerd QS is a good price, $239 @ 8T/H. $29 per T/H, but I’m not sure of the quality. I’d appreciate your thoughts/suggestions. Thanks! ---

It depends of how much electricity you have for it. I have a nerdqaxe acqua and it’s an amazing device, if I had more electricity I would get a avalon Q. ---

Personally I’d go for the Avalon Q. You’ve already tried the little hobby miner route and only got a year out of it, so I’d be hesitant to spend another $239 on 8 TH/s. The Q is definitely a lot more money, but 90 TH/s feels like a proper upgrade and Canaan has been around for ages. If the power draw and extra heat aren’t an issue, that’s the one I’d get. ---

Thank both for your input! My Avalon 3S has been really reliable. I’m going to save up to get the Avalon Q. A little pricey upfront but cost per Th/s is only $19.44 vs. $48 for the 3S. I checked on AliExpress yesterday and there was a seller selling buy 2 get 1 free and the cost was $197 for each Avalon 3S. In the notes the seller said to contact them on WhatsApp. Seemed pretty scammy so I tried to put in an order but couldn’t change the items box to 2. I contacted them on WhatsApp and got told they had a different pay rail than AliExpress because it took too long to get the payments. They also had specials like buy 3 and get 2 free. They sent me several message over the next few hours with videos that I didn’t open. I got in touch with AliExpress and told them about my experience. They wanted a copy of my WhatsApp chat and the link to the store. Got an email from AliExpress telling me they’ve set things up so they can catch them red-handed. I’ve done a lot of business with AliExpress and always had good luck and good customer service. Right now the prices are really high due to our self-sodomizing toddler president. That’s all for the rant, it’s out of my system now. LOL! ---
